LAST CALL
AT THE MILK BAR
Original
Watercolor 11" x 14"
Sold - Private Collection
I came to the Mother & Child series
after several studies of the female form. Women
have such magical contours, color and shape and I
found that newborns and their mothers naturally
doubled that vitality and life. LAST CALL
AT THE MILK BAR is named for the last feeding of the
day; the title referencing barroom closing time.
The literary nerd in me added At The Milk Bar
to the title in homage to Anthony Burgess' Clockwork
Orange for no other reason than the slant rhyme
and milk reference. I can't imagine this lovely
child growing up to be a Droog! |

3 AM
Original Watercolor
11" x 14"
$300
The Mother & Child feeding
paintings are all named for the times of day my new
mom friends most often cited they were called to
nourish their children. 3 AM depicts the
wide-awake child and I imagine a very groggy mum

BLOCKING THE SLAP
Original Watercolor
11" x 14"
$300
I'm not sure if they
still slap newborns to start their breathing, but if
they don't let's imagine this little fella is going to
grow up to guard the net for the Detroit Red Wings in
2027.

I really enjoyed creating this
painting. My goal was to capture the fierce
protectiveness a mother feels for her child. |

This piece was inspired by the

womb. Amazing stuff. |
